Struma Valley
South-western parts of the country are included in this region. It is not a large region, but it has specific climatic features, approaching it to the Mediterranean areas.
Along the valley of the Struma river local variety are widely grown – Broad-leaved Melnik, Melnik 55, Melnik rubin, Sandanski misket and the international ones – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and others.
