Medi Valley is a classic wine complex built in 2007. It is located in the village of Smochevo in the foothills of southwestern Rila, at 630 m above sea level in the northernmost part of the Struma River valley. It consists of a modern wine cellar and 370 decares of vineyards. The realization of the new concept of the winery began in 2010 the aim of which being to turn it into the crown jewel of the Bulgarian southwest. And so began the creation of interesting, rich, specific terroir wines with their own style and unique character, made from grapes specially selected for each variety and type of wine at optimal maturity. Medi Valley is located in a picturesque area on the road to the Rila Monastery. This is where the southwestern wine-growing region known as the Struma Valley begins. The attractive geographical location of the winery, the conditions it has and the exceptionally good wines it offers awarded with prestigious awards at national and international competitions, make Medi Valley the most charming new destination for wine tourism.

The Rila Monastery is one of the most significant cultural monuments in Bulgaria, a symbol of the country, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located in Southwest Bulgaria, Kyustendil district, Rila municipality. It was founded in the 10th century by St. John of Rila in the upper reaches of the Rila River.
The Stob pyramids are one of the most popular rock pyramids among tourists in Bulgaria. They are located above the village of Stob in the western part of the Rila mountain. The average height of the pyramids is between 7 and 10 meters some individual pyramids reach a height of 12 meters. Stob’s pyramids are of various shapes but most are conical and end with a stone cap, resembling mushrooms.
