Zlaten Rozhen is one of the emblematic wineries near Melnik. It all started in 2009 with the purchase of a few small vineyards. The owners Marusia and Teodor only shared the first vintages with friends. They fell in love with the taste of the Melnik wines and with the beauty of the Struma Valley. They opened a small boutique family hotel in the village of Rozhen, bought more vineyards and soon began the construction of a modern wine cellar. In 2014 the first wines in the new winery in Kapatovo village are bottled and in 2018 the wine tasting room which welcomes tourists all year round was opened.
With small but precise steps, as like in the wine making process, Osikovski family reach the point when they can enjoy the modern wine making facilities, well established vineyards and a great team. Zlaten Rozhen wines are made with respect to the nature and in harmony with the local terroir. Their aim is to present Bulgaria na Struma Valley region in the best possible way.
Today the own vineyards of Zlaten Rozhen are 800 decars divided in two plots. In the village of Kapatovo Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Melnishki Rubin, Melnik 55, Shiroka Melnik vine are grown. On the slopes of Levunovo are located Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Shiroka Melnik vine, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
Zlaten Rozhen has its own boutique hotel next to the Rozhen Monastery (in the village of Rozhen), 15 km from the winery. There you will enjoy the authentic interior and unique comfort.
