Main Info
Wine Cellar Neragora is located in the village of Chernogorovo near Pazardzhik and is named after the village but because of the Italian part Cherno (meaning black in Bulgarian) has become Nera from Italian to become Neragora. The project is new but only in regards to the wine as Massimo Asolini (the owner of Neragora) began his business with organic farming in Bulgaria much earlier. The philosophy of the company lies in the fact that it is not enough to simply treat nature with respect but you also have to understand it if you want to achieve harmony and perfection.
Neragora’s approach and philosophy is based on the idea of interpreting the uniqueness of the climatic and geographical conditions of the place. The choice of organic farming comes primarily from the characteristics of the place – the climate is excellent, dry and airy and allows minimal treatment of the plants. The soils are highly permeable, there is no stagnation of moisture, the climate has excellent ventilation, no fogs, with a big temperature amplitudes between day and night. Grapes are naturally healthy, with no need for special care.
The terroir and the human factor are decisive for the character of the wine: the less technological intervention in the vinification phase, the more the characteristics of the terroir are preserved. Following Nature – She wants the grapes to turn into must and the must into wine, knowing that the smaller the intervention, the more prominent the character of the terroir will be, the most important goal is to produce grapes with the best possible -high quality.
