Tipchenitza Winery is located in the picturesque village of Tipchenitsa in the hilly Northwest of Bulgaria. The boutique winery is located 54 km from Sofia and 30 km southeast of Vratsa. The region is known for its traditions in producing quality wine and is gradually establishing itself as one of the most interesting wine regions with characteristic local terroir wines. The altitude in the area is about 500 m, and the terrain is hilly. An interesting fact is that at the beginning of the last century up until the 1930s the village was a large and sought-after producer of vine planting material. Rooted vines were directly taken from here as well as soil for their planting.

The soil along with the favourable climate and the masterful skills of the winemakers are evident in every sip of the wine. Specialising in the production of a diverse boutique series of high quality wines, they use grapes both from their own vineyards (28 ha) planted on the hills above the village and only a few kilometres from the winery, and also from selected varieties from the North West region. In their own vineyards they grow Vrachanski Misket, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rubin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The white varieties ripen towards the middle of September and the red varieties do so from October onwards. The vineyards are not treated with herbicides and the grapes are harvested in cassettes.

Since 2018, Tipchenitsa has a new chief technologist and executive director – Nadia Mineva. She is a certified biotechnologist majoring in winemaking with experience in other wineries. She carried out her specialising in Montpellier, France. The region and the concept of producing quality wines in short series with expression of the variety and terroir impressed her and she accepted the invitation of Velin Djijev (manager and owner) to become part of their team.

Currently, the winery has three series of wines:
