Wine cellar Oprev, established in 2006, is located 36 km from the town of Silistra on the land of the Dobrudja village of Dobrotitsa. The family winery has been building its reputation in the area for years as a producer of high quality varietal wines. The vineyards<\/strong> take up 230 decares located 25 km from the Danube river, the relief is lowland to plain hilly.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The owner of the cellar Todor Oprev<\/strong>, is an experience winemaker and will happily share his knowledge on wine with you. He will spark your interest with his honest and direct patriotism and affection for the Bulgarian land and Dobrudja. He is convinced in the quality and potential of the traditional Bulgarian varieties and thats why he cultivates Red Misket which he turns into white wines and Evmoplia which he turns into reds. The range also includes the international Traminer, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.<\/p>\n

The complex wines of cellar Oprev reflect the unique characteristics of the terroir, the selection of varieties and the attitude towards nature. The vineyards are located on a high grassy part with a southwest exposure.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Dobrudzha is the most fertile land of Bulgaria but the soils on which the vines are planted are medium-exposed chernozem, slightly eroded and heavily sandy-clay, a prerequisite for achieving the unique character and finesse of the wines. At the same time you will be fascinated by the fertility of this area \u2013 in spring time there are beautifully blossoming orchards while in the summer there’s golden wheat as far as the eye can see and lavender fields adding a splash of colour.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In the family cellar you will be greeted with joy and hospitality by the hosts. Guest house “Dobrotitsa”<\/strong> near the cellar is built on a hill with a picturesque view of the nearby hills, dense deciduous forests, lush pastures and extensive gardens. The guest house offers nine stylishly decorated double rooms, and outside terrace with a barbecue, restaurant, gym and a quiet relaxing nook.<\/p>\n

Wine cellar Oprev offers wine tasting in the restaurant next to the guest house, a walk around the production area, a walk in the vineyards in the Gidjikli area.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will find some local attractions and sights in the village of Dobrotitsa and its surroundings – the Church of St. Pavel and Peter, the Wedding Cave, the Sharp Rock as well as meadows with wild peonies \/if you are visiting during the period when they bloom – usually the first half of May\/.<\/p>\n
